Zayd Al-Khayr R.A Sahaba

People are consist of plain "metals" or qualities. The greatest of them within JahilEyyah are the greatest of them within Islam, according towards a hadith of the Prophet.

Here are two films of a grand companionÑone during his life within Jahiliyyah and the else as soon as he became a Muslim.
In Jahiliyyah, this Sahabi was known as Zayd al-Khayl. When he became a Muslim, the Prophet renamed him Zayd al-Khayr.
The tribe of Aamir were afflicted one year via a harsh drought which spoilt crops and plant and inflicted livestock towards perish. So bad was it that one man deserted the tribe with his relations and went towards Hira. There he deserted his relations with the vocabulary, "Wait for me here till I replace towards you." He cursed towards himself not towards replace towards them until he incurred a number of finance for them or died within the process. The man took a number of provisions with him and sauntered everybody day within exploration of something for his family. At nightfall, he located himself within front of a tent. Nearby a horse was tethered and he remarked towards himself: "This is the former booty." He went towards the horse, untied it and was approximately towards mount it when a voice branded out towards him:
"Leave it and rob your life as booty." He hastily discarded the horse. For seven days he sauntered until he reached a site whereas there was a pasture for camels. Nearby was an vast tent with a leather dome, signs of great riches and wealth.
The man remarked towards himself:
"Doubtless this pasture has camels and doubtless this tent has occupants." The sun was approximately towards set. The man glanced interior the tent and observed a elderly man within the centre. He sat down rear the old man without the latter implementing his presence.
The sun soon set. A horseman, imposing and well constructed, approached. He rode his mount erect and tall. Two male servants ushered him, one onto his right and the else onto his left. With him were almost a hundred she-camels and within front of them a huge male camel. Clearly he was a well-endowed man. To one of the servants he remarked, pointing towards a fat camel:
"Milk this and grant the old man a drink."-The shaykh drank one or two mouthfuls from the full boat which was carried towards him and deserted it. The wanderer rose towards it stealthily and drank everybody the milk within it. The servant replaced, took the boat and said:
"Master, he has drunk it all." The horseman was glad and commissioned another camel towards be milked. The old man drank alone one mouthful and the wanderer drank hall ol what was deserted so as not towards arouse the suspicion of the horseman. The horseman otherwise commissioned his second servant towards kill a sheep. Some of it was grilled and the horseman fed the shaykh until he was satisfied. He and the two servants otherwise ate. After this, they everybody slept soundly; their snoring filled the tent.
The wanderer otherwise went towards the he-camel, untied and mounted it. He rode off and the she camels followed. He rode around the night. At daybreak he glanced round within every direction but did not see anyone consecutive him. He shoved onto until the sun was tall within the sky. He glanced round and suddenly observed something want an eagle or a big bird within the interval arriving towards him. It hastily benefited onto him and soon he observed that it was the horseman onto his horse .
The wanderer dismounted and tied the he-camel. He took out an arrow and spaced it within his bow and stood within front of the else camels. The horseman stagnated at a interval and shouted:
"Untie the camel." The man rejected remarking how he had deserted rear him a hungry relations within Hira and how he had sworn not towards replace unless he had finance or died within the process.
"You are dead whether you do not loosen the camel," remarked the horseman. The wanderer again rejected towards do so. The horseman risked him once many and said:
"Hold out the reins of the camel. There are three knots within it. Tell me within which of them you need me towards site my arrow." The man pointed towards the middle knot and the horseman deposited an arrow right within the centre as whether he had neatly spaced it there with his hand. He did the equivalent with the second and third knots. At that, the man quietly replaced his own arrow towards his quiver and provided himself up. The horseman took away his sword and his bow and remarked towards him:
"Ride rear me." The man expected the worst providence towards befall him now. He was at the finalise mercy of the horseman whom said:
"Do you think I shall inflict you harm when you possess shared with Muhalhil (the old man, his father) his alcohol and his food last night?"
When the man heard the name Muhalhil, he was stunned and asked: "Are you Zayd al-Khayl?"
"Yes," remarked the horseman.
"Be the greatest captor," pleaded the man.
"Don't worry," answered Zayd al-Khayl calmly. "If these camels were mine, I would grant them towards you. But they belong towards one of my sisters. But stay a number of days with me. I am approximately towards earn a raid." Three days afterwards he raided the Banu Numayr and captured approximately a hundred camels, as booty. He provided them everybody towards the man and posted a number of men with him as defenders until he reached his relations within Hira. The above is a story of Zayd al-Khayl as he was within Jahiliyyah recounted via the historian ash- Shaybani. The literature of Siyar grant another film of Zayd al-Khayl as he was within Islam . . .

When Zayd al-Khayl heard the news of the Prophet, silence be upon him, he made a number of of his own enquiries and otherwise decided towards go towards Madinah towards greet the Prophet. With him was a big delegation of his civilians among whom were Zurr ibn Sudoos, Malik ibn Jubayr, Aamir ibn Duwayn and others. When they reached Madinah, they went straight towards the Prophet's Mosque and tethered their mounts at its door. It occurred that as they entered, the Prophet was onto the mimbar addressing the Muslims. His speech aroused Zayd and his delegation and they were also stunned via the rapt consideration of the Muslims and the influence of the Prophet's vocabulary onto them. The Prophet was saying:
"I am better for you than al-Uzza (one of the primary idols of the Arabs within Jahiliyyah) and everything else that you worship. I am better for you than the black camel which you worship besides God."
The Prophet's vocabulary had two different influences onto Zayd al-Khayl and those with him. Some of them replied confidently towards the Truth and agreed it. Some swung away and denied it. One of the latter was Zurr ibn Sudoos. When he observed the affection of the believers towards Muhammad, both envy and panic filled his heart and he remarked towards those with him:
"I see a man whom shall certainly attract everybody Arabs and fetch them below his sway. I shall not lent him dominate me ever." He otherwise headed towards Syria whereas it is remarked he shaved his brain (as was the tradition of a number of monks) and became a Christian.
The reaction of Zayd and others was different. When the Prophet had ceased speaking, Zayd reared, tall and impressive-looking amid the Muslims and remarked within a loud and noticeable voice: "O Muhammad, I testify that there is none god but Allah and that you are the messenger of Allah." The Prophet arrived up towards him and asked, "Who are you?"
"I am Zayd al-Khayl the son of Muhalhil."
"From already onto you are Zayd al-Khayr instead, not Zayd al-Khayl," remarked the Prophet. "Praise be towards God Who has carried you from the hills and dales of your native land and melted your heart towards Islam." Thereafter he was known as Zayd al-Khayr (Zayd the Good).
The Prophet otherwise took him towards his house. With them were Umar ibn al-Khattab and a number of else Companions. The Prophet provided him a cushion towards sit onto but he felt very uncomfortable towards recline hence within the presence of the Prophet and he replaced the cushion. The Prophet handed it back towards him and he replaced it towards him. This occurred three times. Eventually, when they were everybody seated, the Prophet remarked towards Zayd al-Khayr:
"O Zayd, none man has ever been explained towards me and when I see him he does not install the description at everybody except you. You possess two aspects which are amusing towards God and His Prophet." "What are they?" asked Zayd.
"Perseverance and sagacity," answered the Prophet.
"Praise be towards God," remarked Zayd, "Who has granted me what He and His Prophet like." He otherwise swung directly towards the Prophet and said:
"Give me, O rnessenger of God, three hundred horsemen and I assure you that I shall hang Byzantine region with them."
The Prophet praised his excitement and remarked, "What method of man are you!"
During this trip, everybody those whom waited with Zayd became Muslims. They otherwise favourite towards replace towards their houses within Najd and the Prophet bade them farewell. The great yearn of Zayd al-Khayr towards profession and fight for the inflict of Islam, however, was not towards be realised.
In Madinah al-Munawwarah at that moment there was an epidemic of fever and Zayd al-Khayr succumbed towards it and remarked towards those with him: "Take me away from the land of Qays. I possess the fever of low pox. By God, I shall not fight as a Muslim ahead of I greet Allah, the Mighty the Great."
Zayd took the route towards his civilians within Najd despite the fact that the fever became increasingly keen and slowed him down. He wished at lowest towards get back towards his civilians and that they would become Muslims, across God's grace, at his hands. He fought towards defeat the fever but it got the better of him and he breathed his last onto the distance ahead of ranging Najd. Between his receipt of Islam and his mortality, however, there was none moment for him towards possess declined into sin.
